The Mask Of Masculinity Review

A book that every man and woman needs to read

You can purchase the book on Amazon.

The Mask Of Masculinity is a new book by Lewis Howes, who you may have heard of from his extremely popular podcasts on YouTube, where he interviews many experts and the most respected thought leaders around the world.

In an ever-changing world, more and more men are becoming confused as to what their roles are in society. Consider the rise of feminism over recent years – many women have taken on more so-called masculine roles, and then often feel frustrated with men because of their confusion or lack of masculinity.

Not only that, but all men are born into a world where certain expectations are put in place from an early age, which leaves us never fully expressing who we truly are. This does not only affect men, but all of the relationships in their lives.

Men don’t cry.
Man up.
Men don’t show emotions, it’s a sign of weakness.

These types of comments have a significant effect on our conditioning, and as we grow out of our childhood years, they have already shaped us into teenagers and young men.

The 9 masks of masculinity

1. The Stoic Mask

2. The Athlete Mask

3. The Alpha Mask

4. The Joker Mask

5. The Sex Mask

6. The Aggressive Mask

7. The material mask

8. The Invincible Mask

9. The Know-It-All Mask

Lewis does an incredible job of addressing the masks that affect all men at some point in their lives. Increasing your awareness of this will literally spark a change in your life.

Men: Recognizing Your Mask of Masculinity

I was hooked on this book as soon as it arrived in the mail. (I am obsessed with self-mastery) Chapter-by-chapter, I could feel layers being peeled off, and my awareness of so many things from the past became crystal clear.

All the past experiences of pain and suffering were being revealed to me, which led to a feeling of relief and peace within myself.

When we are open to new ideas, we gain a position for growth.

Be honest with yourself and spend some time exploring these masks by thinking about your upbringing. What masks have you been wearing?

Women: Recognize Why The Important Men In Your Life Are How They Are

By recognizing these masks that so many of us wear or have worn at some point in our lives, it will create a new awareness and understanding.

Some men will have the full collection of masks, and others may have a couple that is being worn occasionally. But all masks are being worn because of certain feelings of fear and insecurities. Lewis addresses each mask so exceptionally well, and in an easy-to-understand format.

I highly recommend this book to all women who seek better understanding and relationships with the men in their lives.

To Conclude

I found some of the chapters resonated with me enormously and definitely gave me some “ah-ha” moments. The book will be very personal for each person who reads it, and that is why I found it to be so powerful. Now you can understand which masks of masculinity have been present in your own lives, and begin to remove them at your own pace.
