Your mind is an extremely powerful tool that can be used to create magical experiences, solve complex problems, and keep you out of danger. But unfortunately, some people (well, more than some), go through life as a victim to their mind. They barely touch the surface of it's capabilities. In fact, many people lose a battle with their mind more than any other person or thing.

George Bernard Shaw

George Bernard Shaw

"Only 2% of people truly think, 3% think they think, and 95% would rather die than think."

This quote highlights the importance of taking the time to truly think about the life you want to create for yourself. Many people live on autopilot, going through the same habits and thought processes day in and day out, with their heads buried in their phones. They are not truly thinking about the life they want to create.

Stand guard at the doorway of your mind

When you live on autopilot, you are more susceptible to being influenced by others. This isn’t always bad, but it often will be. People that are more empowered than you, or those that are perceived to be above you, will inject their beliefs, values, and opinions into your life. (And no, I don’t literally mean injecting you). When this happens, you begin to live life under other people’s belief systems. As a result, this leads to a life of default. When you live by default, you are not living the life you truly want to live.

It is important to understand that you have some degree of control over what you allow to come into your mind. Your conscious mind will have thousands and thousands of thoughts every day. However, your subconscious mind cannot reject information. It takes on information through certain conditions – emotion, repetition, and lower brainwave states, such as before bed and early in the morning. Because of this, it’s important to be mindful of the things you are watching on TV and the conversations you are having with others. That which you allow into your subconscious mind will influence how you feel about yourself, change your belief systems, and ultimately change your actions and the results in your life.
