The Traditional Path

I took the traditional path. School > College > University > Highly-skilled and qualified job

Yep, I quickly realised that it wasn't for me. I wasn't particularly passionate about what I was doing and didn't really know what I wanted to do in my future.

I decided to go traveling. San Diego and California became my home for the next 6 months. That experienced changed my life and opened up my eyes to so many possibilities.

On returning home, I began to think more about my long term future, and my immediate future, like 'getting a job.'

How do you avoid dead-end jobs?

The key in discovering what you truly love is by recognizing what you don't enjoy. That's why there is tremendous value in doing a dead-end job, at least for a period of time.

Every day that I didn't like the mundane tasks in my job, I was finding time to explore my passions and interests further. The tedious times led to unbelievable drive and hunger for greater things. I knew that one day, I would create my own future.

Eventually, I was drawn to the idea of being in the fitness industry and becoming a coach. This was something that I trained for around my dead-end job with a longer term vision in mind.

How I quit the rat-race

In 2015, after gaining experience as a personal trainer for a few years, I decided it was time to leave. I packed my bags and got a 1-way ticket to Vancouver, BC, Canada. Most of my money had been spent on a business mentor to help me make my dream a reality.

I had spent so much time working unfulfilling, low-paid jobs, and now I had the qualifications and experience to give me the confidence to create my own fitness business.

Initially, things didn't go as  smoothly as expected. I ended up working for a big-chain gym a few months after arriving in Canada. Mostly because it felt like a huge change, and I also benefited by creating new friendships through that job.

This was a huge step up from what I was used to in the work environment and it benefited me massively.

And then there was the freedom lifestyle

After a few years of working in the gym and after the process of achieving my Canadian permanent residency, I was ready to spread my wings, again.

This time, I started my own business. Initially, it began with just fitness. But then over time, things evolved into other aspects of life; life coaching.

Ultimately, I had achieved what I set out to achieve. I was living life on my own terms with true freedom. This was the dream I had back when I worked dead-end jobs in England.

How i quit my dead-end job to start a new life

If you truly want to change your life, you don't need to know every step right now. It just requires consistent movement forward that gradually brings you closer to a better lifestyle. When you take the leap of faith, things will work out for you.

Early on, I didn't have a clue on how I was going to do anything. And many of my predictions took much longer and often took a different path than I had anticipated.

Remember, your dead-end job doesn't have to be a permanent thing. If you want to change badly enough, you'll find a way to make it happen. One of the first pieces of the puzzle is to shift your thinking and change your limiting beliefs. You can begin this by downloading the free belief blueprint.
